Windermere Jetty Museum of Boats, Steam and Stories, spring, summer 2019

Charming Man worked with Lakeland Arts and other creative agencies on the spring 2019 launch of this fantastic £20m museum. From late June Charming Man has worked closely with the Windermere Jetty team on media and marketing campaigns as the museum enjoyed its first successful summer season. Charming Man provided marketing strategy, website support, social media management, media management, overseeing TV filming by the BBC, ITV and film crews from Europe.  Charming Man worked with other suppliers such as photographer Phil Rigby on a new suite of images (like the one below) to promote the museum and its cafe online and in print.

Ruskin, Turner and the Storm Cloud, Abbot Hall Art Gallery, summer 2019

Charming Man lead on PR for Abbot Hall’s blockbuster exhibition: Ruskin, Turner and the Storm Cloud. Through a series of traditional media relations and videos for social, Charming Man helped the exhibition achieve national and regional media coverage – from BBC Radio Cumbria to Country Life Magazine. Charming Man created promotional films, oversaw press interviews and worked with contemporary artist Royal Academician Emma Stibbon.

Alison Watt: A Shadow On The Blind.  Abbot Hall Art Gallery. Oct 2018

Charming Man worked with Lakeland Arts and artist Alison Watt on her brand new painting exhibition at Abbot Hall, Kendal, Cumbria. We created a promo video for the show to run alongside traditional media relations. Our PR strategy was aimed a local and national arts media. To date the exhibition has been covered in The Times, Herald Scotland, Cumbria Life, BBC Radio Cumbria.

Museum of Lakeland Life & Industry: May 2018

Charming Man helped the Museum promote its new exhibition about a Cumbrian institution.

From Wordsworth to the Web: 200 Years of the Westmorland Gazette opened in May 2018.

Working with curators we devised a press campaign and generated extensive media coverage on BBC regional TV, BBC online, ITV Border.

A Monet masterpiece at Abbot Hall Art Gallery, Kendal.  January to May 2018

Charming Man helped Abbot Hall Art Gallery promote its loan of a Monet masterpiece (January to April 2018).

With a sparkling press release, busy press call, super social media, we attracted widespread press coverage everywhere from BBC North West Tonight and ITV Border to regional newspapers and magazines.

We worked with Abbot Hall to deliver a programme of promotion which included press releases, blogs and video. The exhibition saw more than 5000 people visit the gallery.

Lakeland Arts – Katie Spragg dual exhibitions. January to May 2018

Charming Man worked with the artist and museum staff to promote Katie’s two shows at Abbot Hall and Blackwell, the Arts and Crafts House.

Katie is one the UK’s most exciting ceramic and stop frame animation artists – a recent work was purchased by the V&A Museum. We put together press releases and web content including a promotional video

Youngerman Art- Back to the Old House 

One close to Charming Man’s heart! Dickie helped Youngerman Art to promote its fantastic art print which paid tribute to the streets of The Smiths. The work put names of Smiths songs onto a map of the streets where Morrissey grew up. Our PR got the story on key music websites and in Manchester media.

Abbot Hall Art Gallery: Painting Pop exhibition July 2017

Charming Man PR got in the 60s vibe to help promote Abbot Hall’s Painting Pop exhibition in July.

The must-see-summer show featured icons from Britain’s PopArt movement such as David Hockney and Sir Peter Blake. We worked with the Lakeland Arts team to stage a press call in 1960s dress and helped promote the exhibition during its four month run.
