Dickie

In 2016 Dickie celebrated 20 years of working in the media.

For five years he was a journalist on the Liverpool Echo/Daily Post.

In 2001 he left newspapers for public relations and has worked in public and private sectors, culture, charities and health

His most high profile roles include media manager at Keep Britain Tidy where he was England’s anti-litter spokesman.

At Keep Britain Tidy he delivered media relations for hard-hitting anti-litter campaigns that appeared everywhere from the Telegraph to Sky News.

Dickie spent five years as communications manager at National Museums Liverpool (NML) and oversaw media relations for the opening of the £72m Museum of Liverpool.

At the museums Dickie worked with everyone from Yoko Ono, Banksy to Martin Luther King III. He oversaw 20+ social media accounts and helped integrate blogging across the organisation.

After NML Dickie branched out into health communications working with the NHS and nursing union Royal College of Nursing.

Dickie has a contacts book packed full of the most relevant journalists, broadcasters and bloggers.

Aside from Charming PR, Dickie lectures in PR/crisis communications at Edge Hill University.

He has published two books about the singer Morrissey and blogs about music gigs at www.dickiefelton.com.

Dickie moved to south Cumbria and launched Charming Man PR in 2017.
